Dana White Shuts Down All Hope on Irishman’s Mega UFC Return; Says “Don’t Even Know When Conor McGregor’s Coming Back”

UFC President Dana White was in a good mood, but this Conor McGregor question put a dent in it. The Notorious and White have a good relationship because of all the money they make together. McGregor found most of his financial success through his UFC fights under Dana White. And, The UFC became a global brand partly because of McGregor’s marketable personality. Therefore, Dana White and Conor McGregor are a match made in heaven. Recently, White was asked about The Irishman’s return to the octagon to fight Michael Chandler. The UFC Boss was irritated and gave his honest opinion.

The head of the UFC also clarified his initial statement on why he thought Chandler v McGregor was even likely. He also revealed he has no date in mind for McGregor’s long-awaited return.

Conor McGregor might not return anytime soon

Dana White denied rumors of a match-up between ‘The Notorious’ and ‘Iron’ ever happening at the UFC 282 post-fight press conference in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, on 10th December 2022.

The UFC president was in a good mood despite the main event being a letdown for fans and fighters alike. But reporters stormed him with questions about Conor McGregor’s much-awaited return since he suffered a gruesome leg injury at UFC 264.

White commented on The Irishman’s return to the UFC and stated, “I don’t even know when Conor McGregor’s coming back.”

Furthermore, White was asked to comment on McGregor v Michael Chandler. But, White was in no mood to entertain such rumors and said, “I’d never said that, ever f*cking once…”.

The president also clarified why he presented the fight of Chandler vs. McGregor in a previous interview.

Dana White believed Michael Chandler to be a fun fight for The Notorious

White said, “This is what happens when you do interviews, and people listen to your interviews ‘So if Conor McGregor came back right now, who would you be looking at as an opponent…?’”

“Well, I said ‘If he did, if that happened and that scenario played out right now, Chandler would be a fun fight.”

Because he thought it would be fun to see that fight. But, explained that in no way was that an official declaration.

“Never f*cking once did I say we’re doing Conor McGregor vs (Michael) Chandler,” stated Dana White.

Another reason why he cannot officialize any fight with McGregor is that he’s still not ready to come back.
