It is not unknown that Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal and Jake Paul have had a back-and-forth online since 2021. They were previously set to touch leather in the Octagon or the boxing ring. However, Masvidal has disclosed why this much-awaited fight will never happen. The former UFC BMF champion last got into the cage at UFC 287 against Gilbert Burns and lost through a unanimous decision. However, recent developments pointed to him preparing for a return against Nate Diaz in boxing.
Masvidal revealed during a press conference why he would not be fighting Jake Paul and expressed his desire to fight Logan Paul instead.

During the press conference in New York, Jorge Masvidal reaffirmed his decision to fight Logan Paul instead of ‘The Problem Child’ as he considers the younger brother to be a better selling point. Masvidal mentioned, “Not with Jake Paul, a 100% more likely with Logan Paul. Jake doesn’t sell like Logan. The UFC allowed me to do some boxing matches, but Jake had said some unpleasant things about Dana White and also about the UFC. So the UFC said, “F**k you, we’re not going to let you go get money with who is not the biggest draw.” I can fight Logan Paul, but Jake Paul is an a**.”
Along with this, last week during the promotional conference before his boxing match with Nate Diaz in LA, both the fighters chanted one slogan, “F**k Jake Paul.” ‘The Problem Child’ quickly responded and took to his social media to claim that he had offered $10 million to either of the fighters to compete against him. However, the former UFC combatants declined the lucrative offer. Instead, Masvidal was more interested in fighting Tommy Fury. Masvidal also claimed that the UFC allowed him some boxing matches, but not with Paul.

Jake Paul accused Dana White of stopping Masvidal from fighting with him
Turning to X, Paul slammed ‘The Stockton Slugger’ and Masvidal by writing, “Two of the biggest names in MMA can’t keep my name out [of] their [mouths] at their press conference that nobody watched.” It is known that Diaz had previously boxed and lost to Paul in August 2023. The rematch which was probably on the cards never happened.
Paul then added, “Nate already got his a** beat by me, & is permitted by UFC to box anyone but me because Dana [White] knows I will put his little a** to sleep.” He stirred up the prize fighters and even offered money for the fight. This might have gotten on Nate Diaz’s nerves because he has recently hinted at a rematch with Paul.
