Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk seem to be playing their new rival roles perfectly. Ever since talks of a cage fight between the pair gained traction, the tech billionaires have been doing their fair share to keep the world entertained. While a martial arts contest between the pair is far from being materialized, their competition in the field of technology just changes gears. In a move that rivals Twitter, Zuckerberg launched Meta’s equivalent of the bird app, named ‘Threads.’ Shortly after the launch, the Meta CEO made a tweet, seemingly taking a jibe at Musk.

Within two hours of its launch, Threads amassed over 2 million users. This does not include users from the European Union where they are yet to roll out the app. Zuckerberg himself has over 200,000 followers at the moment. The numbers that followed the rollout clearly impressed the 39-year-old. The Facebook founder has made it clear that he wants Meta to replace Twitter. Therefore, he returned to the enemy territory after eleven years and sounded the battle horn without using a single word.

Mark Zuckerberg last used Twitter on January 18, 2012. In that decade-old tweet, he wanted his followers to ask their congressmen to be pro-internet. Eleven years later, he has returned to Twitter, this time with a witty move to ignite a second rivalry with Musk.

In his tweet made just hours ago, Zuckerberg shared the viral Spiderman meme template with no context. With two Spidermen pointing at each other, fans and followers of the tech giant did not have to guess too hard to put two and two together.
