Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is fighting to have the result of his second fight against Daniel Cormier reversed. The fight, which Jones won convincingly via TKO, was a no-contest. This was done after he tested positive for an illegal substance. Jones is now hoping that he will get his win back on his record now. This is due to the new laws of USADA and advancement in science.

Jones and Cormier have had one of the fiercest rivalries in the UFC. Additionally, the intense animosity between the two fighters is on par with that of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. They have gone back and forth many times, and fought twice, with Jones emerging victorious on both occasions.

Despite their intense rivalry, it appears that the two fighters may be putting their beef behind them. Jones recently expressed his respect for Cormier in a tweet. Moreover, he suggested that he would be okay with Cormier commentating on his fights. However, Cormier has made it clear that he doesn’t need anyone’s permission to do so.

Jon Jones wants his win back

The legendary UFC light heavyweight fighter Jon Jones is demanding his win back via a recent tweet. Jones won his second fight against Cormier via knockout. However, the result did not stand as Jones tested positive for Turinabol. Turinabol is a steroid that athletes may use to gain an illegal advantage over an opponent.

In a recent tweet, Jones uploads a picture where it is written, “Jon Jones should get reparations for his USADA suspensions given “the science changed” and now tests under 100 picograms per ML are not positive anymore. None of his positive tests would be a positive under the current rules. His no contest against DC should be restored to a win.

Turinabol is a substance that was most commonly used by East German athletes in the 70s and 80s. However, now the stipulation has changed and science allows 100 picograms per ml in athletes. Thus, today Jones would not have been positive and his result would have stood.

This shows that Jones is willing to look ahead instead of dwelling in the past. Moreover, there is no point in keeping the animosity with a fighter who is no longer fighting and in the game. Cormier now takes part in commentating and analyzing fights after his retirement.
