Deiveson Figueiredo will fight Cody Garbrandt at the grand night of UFC 300 this weekend. Figueiredo’s endeavor in the flyweight division was marred by his extensive weight cuts and after missing a considerable 2.5-pound weight for the flyweight championship match against Joseph Benavidez, Figueiredo knew he had to jump weight class to compete naturally.
‘Deus Da Guerra’ has been known to have extensive weight cuts for fighting in the flyweight division. There was a time when he cut 39 pounds in three months for his fight. However, times have changed and Figueiredo is competing in the bantamweight division but that doesn’t mean that he is not cutting weight. Ahead of his clash at the UFC 300 let’s have a look at Figueiredo’s walk-around weight.

Deiveson Figueiredo is probably the biggest flyweight fighter on the UFC roster to date. As mentioned above, back in February 2020, Figueiredo missed weight on his championship clash against Joseph Benavidez. The UFC administration gave him 2 hours to cut the weight but ‘Deus Da Guerra’ chose to give 30% of his purse to Benavidez. Figueiredo won the clash but was ineligible to win the title due to the weight miss.
To fairly talk about his weight, Figueiredo is a natural bantamweight fighter and he won’t be having any hard time cutting weight. In his fight against Rob Font, ‘Deus Da Guerra’ had a very tender weight-cutting process in comparison to his flyweight days. To be precise, Figueiredo’s walk-around weight is considered to be 165 lbs through various sources. For his flyweight bouts, he used to count around 25% of his body weight.

Figueiredo is sure about his victory on UFC 300
Deiveson Figueiredo is riding a one-fight winning streak against Rob Font. Figueiredo’s last fight was a masterclass as he dominated Font for the majority of the bout. His debut in the bantamweight division was a successful one, and this seems to have given him the confidence to take on ‘No Love.’
While having a conversation with the media, Figueiredo asserted his thoughts on winning. “Everybody knows that I will fight anyone, that the organization has seen that I’ll fight anybody in this company. I think I’m just ready to fight on Saturday because winning on Saturday means I have the greatest opportunity of my life right now. I think the organization is going to see me with different eyes and give me some love and give me the opportunity,” said Figueiredo.
