Derrick Lewis Gives Bizarre Reason for Extreme Temperatures in Houston

‘The Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis came up with a highlight-reel knockout last night as he defeated Curtis Blaydes in the second round of their main event at UFC Vegas 19. Lewis caught ‘Razor’ with a short uppercut as the latter was making an entry for a takedown. It was a perfectly timed and executed shot from the Houston, Texas native.
Lewis is just as dynamic and entertaining outside the Octagon as he is inside it. He never fails to come up with hilarious remarks whenever he is on the mic. After his win over Blaydes, ‘The Black Beast’ was in full flow yet again.
In his post-fight press conference, Lewis explained why it is so cold in Houston, Texas currently. He touted his absence as the main reason for the extreme condition. “I’m understanding the reason why it was so cold in Houston. Because my hot ba*ls weren’t in there the whole week. You know it’s freezing. So I’m coming back tomorrow. So the news this is supposed to be 70 degrees tomorrow so we’re looking up.”

Lewis will look to continue to be in action as he should capitalize on his run. At 36, he doesn’t have a lot of time left in him. So, staying active must be a priority for the top contender.

Who’s next for Derrick Lewis?
‘The Black Beast‘ is currently on a 4-fight winning streak. He sits alone at the top of the mountain for the record of most knockouts in the UFC heavyweight division. He is tied with Vitor Belfort for the most number of knockouts in the UFC, ever. There is no doubt the omnipresent heavyweight is more than deserving a candidate to make a claim to fight for the belt.
However, he indicated his desire to fight Alistair Overeem upon his return to the Octagon. A fight between them would be a fantastic spectacle but doesn’t make much sense from the current ranking perspective as ‘The Demolition Man‘ is coming off a loss. Alexander Volkov might be willing to run it back with Lewis as he is another contender on a high at the moment.
