UFC star Conor McGregor saw his stocks explode remarkably since his Octagon debut. The former UFC champion eventually became one of the most prominent faces in the promotion. Despite being one of the best PPV sellers in UFC history, he is not ‘marketable’ enough now. In a sudden revelation by SportsPro’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes 2021, Conor’s fellow countrywoman leaves ‘The Notorious’ in the dust.

Conor McGregor is away from inside-the-ring action for over a year now. Fans last saw him at UFC 264 where Dustin ‘Dimond’ Poirier defeated the Irishman in a TKO loss. This was his second successive defeat to Poirier. Hence, his stocks plumed in 2022.
However, his fellow countrywoman Katie Taylor is on a roll and has already achieved greatness in combat sports.
How did Conor McGregor and Katie Taylor fare on the list?
Notably, Conor McGregor is absent from SportsPro’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes 2022 list. Unlike him, the world’s best active female fighter, Katie Taylor, is 47th on the list.

Remarkably, Taylor is the only fighter that could find a spot on the list. Known for her aggressive and fast-paced boxing, she itched her name in boxing history as she exchanged blows with Amanda Serrano in April this year. Besides fighting in front of a packed Madison Square, her win over Serrano cemented her G.O.A.T. status.
Her long list of accolades includes a 2012 Olympic gold, five consecutive world championships from 2006 to 2014, and 6 European championships. Thus, justifying her nickname ‘Simply the Best’.
After her amateur boxing exploits, KT transitioned to professional boxing in 2016 and still holds the perfect record after fighting the best of the game.
