Brendan Schaub is known as an MMA star, a comedian, and a podcaster, but did you ever expect him to be known for picking fights with Umpires? Known as ‘Big Brown’ in UFC, he was indeed known for his criticism and arguments with referees, but it never escalated to extreme points. But now, after so many years, it seems like his anger is directed towards baseball and the referee of the Little League where his son was participating.
Full Send MMA decided to post the detailed video of what happened and captioned it: “Former UFC fighter/Podcaster and now Little League coach Brendan Schaub was recently thrown out of a game after arguing multiple calls from the umpire. You can see the umpire initially warn Schaub and then eventually throw him out after the second call, which was followed up by Schaub walking down the umpire before leaving the field.”

He has three children (two sons and one daughter) with his wife Joanna, and clearly, he is very protective of them. The podcaster, Little League coach, and former MMA fighter decided to confront the Umpire and, in turn was told to go out from the field.
Interestingly, he has a reputation of complaining about referees and getting angry at their decisions during UFC fights. He had lambasted referee Jason Herzog after the controversial finale of UFC Seattle’s main event between Henry Cejudo and Song Yadong.

Brendan Schaub lambasted referee for Henry Cejudo’s loss
Brendan Schaub took to Instagram to criticize Herzog and the UFC’s handling of illegal strikes. “There’s nothing worse than poking a guy in the eye in any sport,” Schaub said. “Now ask Henry Cejudo, in his underwear, in a steel cage, fighting the number seven guy in the f—— world, with one eye to perform. It’s insane.” He declared that eye pokes, like any other illegal strikes, should result in an automatic penalty and deduction of points.
The MMA fighter turned comedian added that it was an illegal hit when Song Yadong poked Cejudo in both of his eyes, rendering him unable to see. ‘The Kung Fu Kid’ won by technical decision, but the MMA fans and veterans were not happy because he poked his opponent, and Herzog did not remove a point for Yadong.
What’s your perspective on:
Does Brendan Schaub's history of challenging referees make him a hero or a hothead?
Have an interesting take?
Henry Cejudo could not see out of his left eye even after taking five minutes to recover. Instead of deducting a point or calling for disqualification, Herzog chose to end the fight and handed it to the judges. Schaub was pretty angry about this, and he does speak up against referees and has ranted about UFC judges before as well on his YouTube channel. In fact he has spoken out on the unfair scores that judges sometimes give in MMA. The former UFC heavyweight had went on a long rant after the main event clash between Holly Holm and Ketlen Vieira.

He said that the subjectivity of MMA judging is similar to NBA. During the Schaub Show he said, “That would be like Steph Curry hitting threes and the judges only give him one point. But this other judge gives him four points and this other judge gives him zero points. And then they got to come to an agreement. How insane is that?”
So he does speak up against unfair judgement from referees and umpires. What do you think? Did he do the right thing confronting the Umpire this time?
