“I told UFC my plans,” Jon Jones recently declared to a fan as he is busy in Thailand for a reality TV show. The UFC heavyweight champion has not stepped inside the Octagon since knocking out Stipe Miocic to defend his title at UFC 309 in November, and we all know the ongoing lull in his fight against Tom Aspinall. So, what has the interim heavyweight champion been up to all this time?
Tom Aspinall is keeping himself sharp by training every day and also bringing in famous personalities to train with. Aspinall recently uploaded a YouTube video where he was seen sparring with Morgan Burtwistle, better known as Angryginge or Angryginge13. The YouTuber is known to primarily create FIFA and soccer content. Red Corner MMA posted a snippet of their sparring on Instagram writing, “Tom Aspinall introduces Angry Ginge to world of combat sports”, and fans jumped into the comments.

Meanwhile, Jones previously posted on X about his time in Thailand and how he’s losing weight and keeping himself healthy. Naturally, fans question him about his title and unification fight. “Y’all barkin’ up the wrong tree,” Jones insisted on X.. “I told the UFC my plans a long time ago. I have no clue why they haven’t shared them with you guys yet.”
Jones last fought against Stipe Miocic and defeated him at UFC 309. ‘Bones’ defeated him via TKO, which was a thrilling finish to the fight. Jones bounded into a powerful spinning back kick that slammed into Miocic’s left side and made the former champ crash onto the mat. Interestingly, if Jones and Aspinall’s fight sees the light of day, this matchup will be interesting, since their fighting styles present a stark difference. Aspinall is known for his knockout prowess and focuses on head strikes, while Jones employs a more varied striking approach, mixing head, body, and leg strikes. Grappling could be the main focus area, as Aspinall avoids the bottom position, while Jones has a high takedown defense of 95%.
So, what is UFC’s plan? Well, we do not know that yet, but we do know that the fans are still anticipating the fight since they commented on the same under the Instagram post of Aspinall and Angry Ginge’s video.

Like partying? He’s fighting. He’ll be fighting.” When the reporter inquired, “2025?” Dana said, “Yes!” As Dana White tries to keep the hope alive, Jones remains vague about the decision, and Aspinall grows more impatient.
