Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka is gearing up to gain back his 205-pound title. However, he had responded to a query about moving up to the heavyweight division and also suggested an alternative. He was sure he could move down to the middleweight division as well. The UFC fighter explained his physical comfort and understanding of his physique, along with his diet, to justify that he could move to a lighter division. However, Michael Bisping was not convinced when he heard this while taking Jiri’s interview.

Even so, the Czech fighter is convinced that he can move to 185 pounds. Meanwhile, the UFC champ is also waiting to get his title back from Alex Pereira, who interestingly moved up from middleweight.

Alex Pereira already defeated Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 and is the new champion. Now Jiri Prochazka is looking to defeat Pereira. Looks like Hill, who lost to Pereira in the 205-pound category, wants to fight Prochazka as well. Meanwhile, the Czech fighter also wants to go down to 185 weight class. Michael Bisping was in complete disbelief when he heard this, and he even discussed it with Anthony Smith in his podcast.

Bisping explained, “One of the things that he did speak about, you probably saw it this week, is that never mind going up to heavyweight. He wants to get the belt back. He wants to fight Alex Pereira right now. He doesn’t care where it is, when it is, he’s ready to go out in a moment’s notice.” Bisping also explained that the fighter is huge and declared, “I found that quite surprising as well, so he feels that 185 is doable.”

Jiri Prochazka is planning to reduce his weight to 185, but not before he gets his 205 belt back. He mentioned in an interview when asked about moving up to heavyweight, that he wants to move down. “Rather than heavyweight, I thought I’d try middleweight,” Procházka said. He continued, that he feels that his metabolism can take the new weight class and he can adjust his diet. “So, I know that if I adjust my diet to where I feel great and clean, I know I could handle the middleweight division, with some lighter diet,” the fighter mentioned.

According to Bisping, ‘The Czech Samurai’ explained that he knew his body and it was all in the game of dieting. He continued,Yeah, he said he can make 185 no problem. I said ‘Bro’ I said, ‘That’s gonna be miserable just so you know. It’s gonna be shi**’ and he had a big smile on his face.” Former middleweight champion Bisping’s convincing did not change the fighter’s mind.

Now Jiri Prochazka does not have a shortage of opponents since Pereira and Hill both might fight with him even, though Prochazka wants to fight Pereira.

Jiri Prochazka wants a rematch with Pereira ASAP

‘The Czech Samurai’ had lost his chance of regaining the title of heavyweight after being KO-ed by Alex Pereira. However, he never gave up and showed that during his bout against Aleksandar Rakić at UFC 300. He won the fight, and this earned the former champ the rank of the contender in 205 pound division.

He told to the MMA Hour, “I feel great. I feel really great that the mission was successful.” However, before the fight with Pereira, Prochazka had a staph infection, and he promised to give a different result if he got a rematch. “Never regret,” he said about the previous fight but still wants a rematch.
