It can’t be easy being related to one of the biggest names in combat sports. Of course, Biaggio Ali Walsh will try to live up to the great name of his grandfather, Muhammad Ali. The former American Football player transitioned to the PFL and currently holds a 6-1 MMA record.

However, the great name of his grandfather precedes him everywhere he goes.  As much as he looks at him with respect and great admiration, the pressure of being an related to him is like no other. At this point, a knockout victory is almost the expectation of the 25-year-old. It almost undermines the role losses play in offering great development in terms of a fighter’s style and technique. For Ali Walsh, the scenario inside the cage brings about a little more pressure than perhaps many others.

“100 yeah I’ve always had that pressure,” he said in a recent interview with MMA Underground. “Obviously you know it’s a little bit on a bigger scale now but you know, I was introduced to that pressure when I was like a freshman in high school when Max Preps initially came out about who I was related to and yeah I always had that pressure and you know going into this sport I was expecting this type of pressure.”

As it would seem, he was well-prepared to go through the motions of coming from a lot of fame. Most recently, he knocked out Joel Lopez to achieve his sixth career win. He is currently in an amateur stage of his fighting career but fans clearly want him to go pro.

Turning into a professional fighter

Ali Walsh achieved his amateur wins in great fashion. However, is he anywhere close to going pro? In a recent conversation he mentioned how he’s still trying to get ready for the whole situation. There’s no one way to turn pro so quickly. He’d rather sit down with his coach and figure out his path ahead. For fans, he’s already a rising favorite.
