Dana White seized the opportunity to poke fun at the ‘Veteran voice of the Octagon’. Bruce Buffer has been at the center of UFC since its early days and has established himself as one of the best ring announcers. His “Buffer 180” is the staple of UFC PPVs and his announcement grips the viewers with excitement. Along with the UFC President, the announcer has been the face of the promotion. He has been through thick and thin since 1996, but this time found himself on the receiving end of a jibe from his boss.
The 66-year-old announcer, who first announced the prelims of UFC 8, is now synonymous with the promotion. He travels with the UFC top brass to fulfill his duties. The same afforded a window to the UFC head honcho that comically reminded him he was currently living in 2023.
