Here’s How Much Money Alexander Volkanovski, Nick Diaz, Valentina Shevchenko, and Others Made From UFC 266

The UFC 266 pay-per-view took place last weekend. The card was headlined by Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega as the duo clashed for the featherweight title. Valentina Shevchenko defended her flyweight title against Lauren Murphy. Also, Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler collided in a rematch.

The fighters’ pay for the event has been released since. There is no surprise in guessing who made the most that night. Well, it was the Stockton native Nick Diaz who got paid the heftiest sum. He took home a whopping $566,000. Diaz got paid $500,000 show money, $50,000 for Fight Of The Night, and $16,000 fight week incentive pay.

The featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski made $492,000 with $400,000 show money. Of course, he got a Fight Of The Night bonus for his scrap against Ortega.

Flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko made $392,000. Brian Ortega made $332,000 for his valiant effort in the main event of the card. He earned an incentive and the Fight Of The Night bonus along with his $250,000 show money. Diaz’s opponent, ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler made $321,000.

Dan Hooker, who fought on the prelims against Nasrat Haqparast, made $236,000. Heavyweight Curtis Blaydes made $211,000. Former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade made $156,000. Another title challenger, Lauren Murphy made $132,000. Marlon Moraes and Merab Dvalishvilli made $126,000 and $120,000 respectively.

Nick Diaz proved he is still a big draw

Despite the card having two title fights, the clash that intrigued fans the most was the middleweight contest between Diaz and Lawler. The Arena erupted when Diaz made his much-anticipated walk to the Octagon and the payments show how highly he is valued by the promotion still.

Whether fans will ever see Diaz back in action, remains to be seen. But the captivating aura surrounding the former Strikeforce and WEC champion is still there. Also, despite his loss, Diaz showcased the exceptional skills he possesses. So, at the age of 38, Nick Diaz remains one of the biggest stars of MMA.
