Oliveira freed himself from the clutches of Dariush and then returned the favor with a devastating head kick and then followed up with a barrage of powerful blows. Dariush never recovered from those blows, and the referee had to stop the fight in the first round. A right hook rocked Dariush and then Oliveira’s vicious ground-and-pound dashed Dariush’s title hopes.

With Oliveira’s latest win, the rematch between him and the lightweight champion is likely on the cards. The Russian champion responded to Oliveira’s victory by congratulating him but also pointed out there were still levels in the game.

He wrote, “Congrats Charles. But still there’s levels in this game 😎”
