After a disappointing loss against Ciryl Gane for the interim UFC heavyweight championship, ‘The Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis returned to the win column with an explosive victory against Chris Daukaus. Lewis clinched the victory in the match’s opener itself as he unloaded a barrage of punches on the Philadelphian.
Whilst his win was enough to create a buzz, ‘The Black Beast’ got the Vegas crowd buzzing with another iconic victory celebration.

After commemorating his win with his signature victory poses, a thrilled Lewis took out his protective guard from underneath his shorts. He waved it for a few seconds and threw it into the audience with a wicked smile on his face.
Meanwhile, as netizens were reacting to this gesture from Lewis, a man from the crowd hurried and picked it up from the stairs.
In the post-fight interview, the commentator asked ‘The Black Beast‘ why he threw his protective cup into the crowd. In reply, an elated Lewis commented on his action and said, “One day it’ll be an NFT, make money off of the sh*t.”

Chris Daukaus entered the octagon with ‘The Black Beast’ as a small favorite. However, that tag disappeared in the cage as the #7 ranked fighter succumbed to heavy punches from the former UFC title challenger. He also lost his undefeated UFC streak and will have to head back to the drawing board.

The decisive blows from Lewis came in the fourth minute of the round as he took the fight to the canvas. The referee stepped in to stop the fight as Daukaus was unable to defend himself from the punches. Even before that, it was all Derrick Lewis, as he was just unstoppable.
