Amazon Studios has cast the former UFC champ in the remake of the 1989 Hollywood movie- Road House. The UFC star had been eyeing a project worthy of him to mark his Hollywood debut, but his duties kept him busy from realizing this ambition.

In August, Amazon Studios announced the complete cast of the remake. In addition to other Hollywood actors, one name on the list attracted the attention of MMA fans- Conor McGregor.

The Irishman Conor McGregor is currently in the Dominican Republic for the ongoing production of the movie. In between his acting commitment and his training, the multi-division fighter also gives his fans a sneak peek behind the scenes.

The UFC star posted another update on his social media handle. Staying true to his nature, he displayed his typical attitude and arrogance.
Instead of dropping it, McGregor has maintained his brash nature despite working in a different profession for the time being. He captioned the post, “Acting lessons in the bullet proof on the way to set. I give no f**ks about no set.”

The movie’s theme revolves around fighting and guts, and according to the script, the protagonist had a UFC career. Given this premise, who could have been a better choice than the Dublin-born fighter?

The Amazon Prime project will stream online in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. Conor McGregor looks set to play a leading, unique character in the movie. It’s confirmed that he won’t play himself. It’ll be interesting to see how the 34-year-old steps into acting shoes.

Patrick Swayze donned the protagonist role in the original movie. This time, the Spiderman: Far From Home antagonist Jake Gyllenhaal is roped in to play the protagonist.

In the remake, he plays an ex-UFC fighter who is tasked with performing the duties of a bouncer. In course of his new job, he encounters some troubles and realizes that all is not rosy in the Florida neighborhood.

With this, Conor joins the ranks of other prominent MMA fighters who starred in Hollywood movies. Some of those names include Ronda Rousey (The Fast and the Furious 7), Randy Couture (The Expendables), and George St. Pierre (Captain America: The Winter Soldier).
