‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley is set to face Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at UFC 299. The two fighters faced each other at UFC 252 in which the bantamweight champion lost via a knockout. Ever since, the two have been fierce competitors, constantly at each other’s throats in and out of the octagon. However, in a recent turn of events, ahead of their rematch, Vera defended O’Malley by slamming Ryan Garcia.
Recently, Garcia has been calling out Sean O’Malley for a fight in the UFC cage. Vera finds this call-out to be unwanted, unexpected, and most importantly, unreasonable. Why? Let’s find out.

According to the UFC bantamweight fighter, it is not fair to call out MMA fighters for an MMA fight. That is because, according to him, Garcia stands no chance in the MMA ring. In a recent interview, when asked, he said, “I mean, you’ve got to understand that you look silly. Like he says, “I’m a natural; I just beat up my bodyguard.” Fire your bodyguard, I mean.”
However, at the same time, he respects the sport of boxing and would practice what he preaches as he would refrain from unreasonable call-outs himself. He adds, “I respect boxing. I don’t think I can beat a world champion my size. It’s impossible. I don’t go and beat LeBron. I don’t go and beat Kyler Tiger Woods. You don’t beat a specialist on their stuff when you are in a different sport.”

It appears that despite his dislike for O’Malley, he is honest about his opinion. Moreover, it bears mentioning that Vera is not the only one from the MMA world who disregarded the possibility of Garcia fighting O’Malley.
UFC White cannot foresee O’Malley and Garcia fighting
O’Malley and Garcia are both big names in the world of combat sports. However, a fight between them does not make sense to Dana White, according to Michael Bisping. The former Middleweight champion took to his YouTube channel and said the UFC would not be open to welcoming this potential match-up under their banner.

He said, “Surprisingly, no response. Okay? Sean O’Malley is the UFC bantamweight champion of the world. He’s fighting in two weeks. He’s got a huge fight against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera, trying to avenge the only loss on his record. Okay. I don’t think the UFC are out there right now trying to do Garcia versus O’Malley.”
