

While a fight against Conor McGregor is months away, Michael Chandler is already hyped for it. The 36-year-old recently made some bold comments and revealed a preferred timeline for the fight. The former Bellator MMA lightweight champion is currently filming for season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter against McGregor. TUF will air from May 30 and last till August. Fans and pros expect McGregor and Chandler to fight shortly after that.

Chandler was talking to the media at UFC 285 when he addressed a future fight against “The Notorious” one.

Michael Chandler makes a bold claim about fighting Conor McGregor
While talking to the media at UFC 285, ‘Iron’ Mike Chandler laid out his plans for the former champion. Chandler revealed he would prefer to fight McGregor in September or October. This is not surprising considering that TUF coached traditionally fight in the months that follow the show’s finale.

Chandler also made a bold prediction about the fight. He predicted he would finish the former double champion via a TKO in the second round. Considering how both fighters start their fights with their foot down on the gas, an early finish for either would not be a surprise for the fans.

Adding further to his comments, Chandler said, “I’m going to bludgeon” Conor McGregor. While McGregor and Chandler spoke no ill bout each other so far, it appears things are starting to heat up.

Chandler’s statements are not too far from what McGregor himself said a few days back. However, ‘Mystic Mac’ did not have anything bad to say about his future opponent.

What did McGregor say about Chandler?
In a recent interview, Conor McGregor gave his prediction for the Chandler fight. The Irish MMA icon looked to be in good spirits, donning his TUF coaching role, while speaking on the future.

He said, “I think I’m going to slice through him. I think I’m a little too slicey for him than anyone else he’s fought. A little too snappy and whippy, and I think I’ll slice through him.”
The 34-year-old also added that he had no ill will against Chandler. However, Chandler’s recent comments indicate things could be heading into the competitive plains.
