Chuck Liddell terrified not only his opponents inside the cage but also sent a chill down the spine to anyone who messed with his friends. The devastating fighter, who has a knack for knockouts, was always the first to jump in to break the fights. Recalling such an experience, Joe Rogan once opened up about an incident when the former UFC champion got tangled up in a bar fight. A few years down the line, the American fighter put the claims to the test.
Notably, the color commentator in one of JRE’s episodes recalled the time he was in a club with ‘The Ice Man’. Some guy foiled their night as he had some unpleasant remarks for one of Liddell’s friend’s girlfriend. But when the perpetrator spotted Liddell, he froze as if he spotted a ghost. While the memories of the encounter’s specific details evade him, the UFC veteran admits he stood up for his friends a “lot of times”.

Chuck Liddell knows his way around the bar fights
The 53-year-old recently appeared on Jaxxon Podcast and when shown by host the famed podcaster’s clip, he mentioned, “Like he [Joe Rogan] was saying somebody was messing with somebody, I got up. A lot of times. That’s what I do with my friends.”

The UFC Hall of Famer continued, “‘You shouldn’t break that up’, like look, I go over to break it up because I can, you know. I can go over there and get it broken up without anything happening. If they break it with someone I was thinking that’s gonna be a fight”.
The 21-9 record holder leverages his fame as he walks over to the other side. Further, he doesn’t force a situation as he gives guys out. When a guy like Liddell advises one to not take a fight, one is likely to take his advice. His build also eases his cause. He maintained he learned how to give guys out when he was growing up. However, it didn’t mean he wasn’t ready to pick a fight in the bar.
The Santa Barbara native stated, “I did [go] ‘look man, it’s okay. It’s okay to say that you’re good right now. We don’t have to do this”.
“You can look at me. You know I will. If I have to [fight] I will and you’re not gonna like it,” he added later.

Rogan has on multiple occasions attributed Liddell for elevating UFC to new heights. The light heavyweight fighter stood on the fans’ expectation of an icon that they could look up to. He held his own end of things as his ability to unleash blows as well as absorb blows made him a monster.
