Jack Della Maddalena had aimed with a low scathing remark against Ian Machado Garry ahead of UFC 315. It seems like everyone is after the Irishman’s family. First Colby Covington insults his wife Layla and now JDM insulted his little son.

Della Maddalena was asked about his reaction to Garry’s fight week shenanigans at Thursday’s UFC 315 press conference. “I don’t think that’s actually Ian’s son. I don’t like M&M’s,” he replied. Do you think Garry was going to remain silent? Absolutely not. ‘The Future’ spoke up defending his family while speaking to Ariel Helwani and said, “it’s immature… when I fight him I am going to open up a whole can of irritation.”

JDM might be the new champion after defeating Belal Muhammad, but was this comment necessary? He did walk away with the UFC gold, but not without controversy. He clarified that he was sticking to his point. He said in the post-fight presser, “I said what I said, and that’s what I think.”

Garry has had to address the MMA community’s obsession with his family since he married Layla Anna-Lee and began raising her son from a previous relationship. Meanwhile, he was not impressed with JDM and Muhammad’s performance. Let’s see what he said.

Ian Garry and Jack Della Maddalena’s new feud

Garry spoke about JDM’s fight in an Instagram post and wrote,  “You have a new champion in Jack Della Maddalena. He had a great performance, but sloppy. The rumor is that Islam Makhachev is moving up to 170. If he does, then all of us welterweights have to take a step back and give the man the respect he deserves. But if negotiations don’t go so well, then you have a tall, blonde Irishman who’s ready to take over the UFC and get that belt, and I will smoke Jack Della Maddalena. I’ll box the ears off him.”

Garry had asked ChatGPT about the welterweight champ’s favorite food, and M&Ms came up. He decided to send his son, Leo, to Maddalena with a pack of the chocolates during the recent UFC 315 presser. The Aussie happily accepted Leo’s gift and even high-fived him. However, he kept it beside him without eating it since he was cutting weight for the fight. So was the Irishman’s tactic to damage his fight? Well, he was the backup fighter after all. So when JDM was asked about this incident, he replied that he believed the boy who gave him the chocolate was not Garry’s son.

Meanwhile, JDM was ready to fight Garry. “Yeah, 100% I’ll be comfortable fighting Garry. That’s a fight that’s gonna happen and I’ve mentally prepared myself for that fight,” Jack Della Maddalena said to ‘MMA Junkie’. “I reckon I could take him out. He had a good win.
