Ian Garry Leaks Conor McGregor’s Behind the Scenes Training Details and Reveals Getting Stunned by ‘The Notorious’

Ian Garry is a big fan of the Irish icon, Conor McGregor. Both of them hail from the same country, and McGregor has been a massive inspiration for Garry as well. In a recent conversation, the 26-year-old revealed how a sparring session with his favorite star gave him goosebumps.

Garry got a chance to train with McGregor recently. And ‘The Notorious’ made sure he brought all his style to the sessions as well. Here’s how he left a lasting impression on the young star.

Garry recently appeared on an edition of The Energized Show, an Irish podcast filled with fans of ‘The Notorious’. And why shouldn’t it be? He’s helped put Ireland on the map in the MMA world. The UFC star is all the rage in his home country, and Garry is perhaps his biggest fan in the UFC.

Garry and his hosts were discussing the grandiose nature of the superstar when the fighter was posed a question. He couldn’t help but bring up his sparring sessions with McGregor. Being in the same ring and trying to spar for MMA was perhaps one of the best moments of his life.

Garry said, “When we were doing the MMA sparring, you seen it in the video that he posted where he brought out like the OG Conor, like the split sand squat. The hand came out and the spin started coming I was like get the f*ck out of here.”

He is clearly talking about the way McGregor presents himself once inside the Octagon. He clearly has that star aura, whether he’s inside an arena or not. But will that aura transfer over to his fan, Garry? ‘The Future’ currently stands with a 13-0 record, but will it go on?

Ian Garry and his next fight

Garry has fought some formidable fighters over the past couple of years. He’s just coming off a unanimous decision win over Neil Magny. Now, as UFC 296 approaches, the fighter prepares to take on Vincente Luque. Perhaps his sparing sessions with McGregor could come in handy once the fight begins.

Both McGregor and Garry are great at their own style of striking. However, they’re markedly different in the way that they utilize it all. Garry’s being from Ireland obviously makes him very visible in McGregor’s eyes. The only question that remains is: will he be able to beat his next opponent?
