“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth,” Deiveson Figueiredo had said once to the UFC Countdown show. He is a jack of all trades and a master of most of them because his backstory is textured, unlike most other fighters in MMA. Before the glistening lights and walk-out songs, he saw the scenery of the small city of Soure, tucked away in the state of Pará. With his parents and siblings, he braved buffaloes and muddy roads before becoming a UFC star.
He did odd jobs from being a bricklayer to a delivery man, a sushi chef, and even a hairstylist. His father, a modest buffalo shepherd, might not have fought as a professional, but he knew the art of luta marajoara, a traditional wrestling style. This legacy that was passed from father to son was the start of the ‘God of War‘ changing his destiny. He moved to Belém, a bigger city, where he picked up capoeira—a rhythmic Brazilian martial art blending fight, dance, and music. It was there that his transformation began, and his family was always by his side.
Naturally, he too wanted a family of his own, and that soon came to fruition when he married his long-term girlfriend, Bruna Moraes. “It’s healthy for me, it’s good for me — it keeps me focused on the fight,” added the proud husband and father before fighting against Marlon Vera. “They’re the reason I’m fighting, and they’re the reason I’m going to win on Saturday; I’m gonna win for them.” And guess what? He won via unanimous decision.

And then he got the biggest gift of his life for a third time when his wife gave birth to their son three months later. He posted a heartfelt Instagram post about the happy moment and wrote, “Another gift for our lives. I am a very blessed father! My heart is full of love and gratitude for this special moment. Welcome to the world, my son! 💙 Your parents and siblings already love you very much!”

The former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion has proved his mettle in MMA and broken barriers to make his family proud. But let’s see how ‘God of War’ met his partner, who stood by him through thick and thin, even though he had to work hard to give her the best lifestyle.
Deiveson Figueiredo’s love story with his decade-long partner
The Brazilian UFC star married his long-time girlfriend, Bruna Moraes, in a private but extravagant ceremony. Although not much is known about his wife, sources indicate that they have been a couple since 2015. He worked pretty hard to give her all that she deserved since he was zooming across Belem on a motorbike while working as a taxi rider. Why? To give her the princess treatment, of course!

“I had my girlfriend, who is my wife today, and dating costs money,” he said as per ESPN. He proved his worth to her by going to the farthest lengths for love. She, on the other hand, kept on supporting him quietly while looking after their family.
The couple welcomed their son Benicio in 2019 and the bantamweight star always expresses his love for his children. Figueiredo once said in one of his interviews with FanSided, “I just think about making a better life for my family, I’m gonna be proud for my country. But the most important [thing for me], without MMA-UFC, is changing the lives of the people [in it].” You simply can’t doubt Deiveson Figueiredo’s love for his family, and it shows how proud he is to be a father, for the third time.
