UFC welterweight Colby Covington sat down with Submission Radio for an exclusive following the news of his recent fight announcement. ‘Chaos’ will go head-to-head against Kamaru Usman at UFC 268 for a chance to clinch the welterweight strap. The bout is a rematch that has been in the making for a long time and fans can’t wait to see it unfold.

While Covington will certainly have his hands full on fight night dealing with Kamaru Usman, he’s already looking towards his next assignment. Chiefly, Colby Covington shared a desire to fight his teammate Dustin Poirier once he battles Usman.

Covington had nothing nice to say about Poirier and there’s definitely a lot of vitriol for the Louisiana native. Covington has been on record saying he’ll take the fight at a catchweight if need be.

“The only fight to make [after UFC 268] is me and Dustin ‘The Soyboy Soirier’. Him and his family are Louisiana swamp trash. Him and his little Jezebel of a wife, him and his little kid that he uses as a prop like he’s a family guy…. He a fake nice guy on camera. He’s a piece of sh*t off camera.”

“I’ve seen this guy, I know how he is. I’ve seen how he treats other people. He’s a piece of sh*t, he’s a dirtbag.”

“I’m going to expose him. He said it’s on sight….Why is he quiet now? Because he knows I’m coming for him and he knows he’s not a man of his word….I’ve seen him 50 times since then and he walked right away. He put his eye down and walked right past me like the good little bi*tch that he is.”

Covington has made it abundantly clear that he has no love for anyone from the ATT camp, least of all for Poirier. Stylistically, it would be a fight that would interest fans since both men always come ready for war.

Not to mention, the storyline of two former teammates fighting each other writes itself.
