Amanda Nunes, who was once on the verge of calling it quits after her loss against Julianna Pena, faces a steep challenge in Irene Aldana at UFC 289. Various pundits and fighters have already had their pick for the mouthwatering headliner. Joining the party late, Henry Cejudo foresees a new champion sitting at the UFC women’s bantamweight throne after the conclusion of the 135 lbs title showdown. The UFC Hall of Famer believes the promotion is engulfed with a Mexican wave and he is willing to ride on it.
‘Lioness’ has enjoyed an extended stay at the top of women’s featherweight and bantamweight divisions. But she suffered a setback when ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ handed her a devastating loss at UFC 269. Brazilian fighter regained her bantamweight crown, but ‘Triple C’ expects her to slip again.

Henry Cejudo raises alarm for champion Amanda Nunes
Cejudo on the latest segment of ‘Bet Like a GOAT’ cast doubts on the bantamweight champion’s ability to defend her title as she was slowing down. Likewise, UFC President Dana White has also suspected whether Nunes was the same killer.

While the former UFC champion sees a way out for the 35-year-old champion, he believes victory was up for taking for the Mexican.
He said, “If Amanda Nunes is able to get that grappling, I could see her maybe getting that victory, but man, captain, I can actually see Irene Aldana knocking her out. I really can.”
Cejudo picks Irene Aldana to run riot at UFC 289 against Nunes
However, Cejudo had a word of caution for Nunes as he asked her to exploit her experience and fighting acumen. Otherwise, she risks losing her coveted title.
He stated, “If Amanda Nunes doesn’t bring that tactical sense and that experience, then either kicks her [Irene Aldana] or takes her down, she’s gonna be in trouble with this Mexican. I’ll tell you what, and she is super, super confident.”
Lastly, ‘The Messenger’ revealed he could bet on the challenger to get the job done. He announced, “If I had to place my money and I like them both. There is no hard feelings for either one of them. I’m gonna have to go with Irene Aldana on this one.”

Earlier, Rashad Evans chose Aldana to upset Nunes and become the fourth Mexican champion in the promotion.
