In his venerable combat career in Glory Kickboxing and UFC,  Alex Pereira has established himself as one of the most devastating punchers on the planet. Interestingly, it seems like the trait of being a deadly combat sports athlete and having a dynamite left hook runs in the family. Do you know that the light heavyweight champion has a sister who fights as well? Say hello to Aline Pereira. At 34, Aline Pereira is the younger sister of the mighty Alex Pereira. Like her brother, she too forged a career in combat sports, but not as illustrious as her older brother.

The sister of UFC’s light heavyweight champion has had mixed success across various combat sports, emerging most dominant in kickboxing. While we know about Alex Pereira’s past relationships and his sons, what about his sister? That’s what we’re here to find out.

Aline Pereira’s husband and kids

Aline Pereira juggles her dreams of being a full-time fighter with working a 9 to 5 job at Amazon and training for competitions. However, she not only has the support of her brother Alex Pereira but also of her husband and son.  “It’s not easy,” Pereira said to MMA Fighting but expressed gratitude at being in the USA. “We do deliveries for four and a half hours. But it’s great to be here. The United States is perfect for me and my son, too.”

Guess what? even her son is a budding martial artist and now has the ability to become a top athlete surrounded by some of the world’s best fighters. She even shared her son’s first achievement on Instagram stating, “Today was my baby’s first jiu-jitsu fight. I’m so proud of him there were 2 very tough fights, congratulations my love you have a bright future ahead of you. thank you@gloverteixeira @caio_magalhaes @erickterere @mari_piccolo @jasongomezmma @jujuthejuice_and the team@teixeirammaandfitnessI am very grateful for all the teachings.”

She has also shared a post about her husband, Celso, who she married in 2020 after eight years of dating. “And after almost 8 years together today 10/30/2020 we made our union official,” Aline wrote on Instagram while sharing a picture of their wedding day.

Her love for combat sports runs as deep as her love for her family. Hence, she goes above and beyond to ensure that there is enough food on the table for her son, and husband. Her relentless nature is evident from the fact that she works as an Amazon delivery executive to support her fighting career.

Aline Pereira’s financial struggles

Even though Aline Pereira’s brother is quite wealthy, given his status as a UFC champion, she is treading her own path financially. Even after having a brother who can give the world to her, Aline Pereira chooses to struggle and walk the same path as her brother did. She is also glad that she is surrounded by legends in the sport while training in the gym. Aline has the support of her brother Alex and even ex-UFC champ Glover Teixeira and dreams that one day she can “live only for the sport.”

Like her brother, Aline Pereira forged a career in kickboxing before shifting to MMA between 2022 and 2023, reaching 1-2 under the LFA flag. She’s now in a contract with Karate Combat and scored an iconic knockout over Dee Begley in her promotional debut.

Despite slowly climbing a ladder in the combat sports world, she still hustles day and night for the extra money. “I do deliveries for Amazon, and we do what we have to do,” Pereira conveyed to MMA Fighting. “This routine is very tiresome because we still have to accommodate the training hours and the job, but it all works out in the end.” It looks like Aline is working her way up, balancing a day job with her life as a professional fighter, much like how Alex did in his heydays

To her benefit, her brother always has her back, and he even admitted that he gets nervous before her fights since MMA is a dangerous sport. Aline Pereira, in an interview with MMA Junkie, expressed, “He’s picky (as a coach). He’s on top of it. He checks my opponents. He goes over it. Gives me hints. But having him around is the best thing.”

But the pressure on the flyweight fighter is real. Juggling a budding combat sports career with a full-time delivery job and taking care of her son is not easy. Nevertheless, the support from her brother and ex-UFC champ Teixeira increases her chances of forging her legacy in combat sports. What do you think about her career and zeal to be no 1?
