The UFC Fight: Thompson vs Holland took place at Amway Center, Orlando and the card featured exciting matchups. While the card offered a chance for the fighters to break into rankings, and a pathway to glory, the fight card also promised some back-and-forth fights. Remarkably, one such prelims back-and-forth fight at UFC Orlando attracted the attention of the fans as the fight turned out to be a bloody affair.

Although the featherweight fight involving Darren Elkins and Jonathan Pearce went the distance and got decided on the judges’ scorecard, the face of Elkins might tell a different story.

How did the fans react to Elkins’ bloody face?

While ‘The Damage’ lost the fight via unanimous decision, the fans praised the fighter’s tenacity.

One user called Elkins a tougher dude and enquired whether the fighter had a miracle in his pocket.

Similarly, the same user pointed out an intriguing moment of the fight. Thus, they commented, “”I know you’re a tough son of a b**ch, but I want the doctor to take a look at it.” Big Dan is a legend. #UFCOrlando”

A fan observed,” Darren Elkins has a bloody cut on his face and doc lets him go on! It looks like a 1960s pro wrestling match”

The UFC fighter, Li Jingliang, praised Elkins and called him ‘tough as nails’.

What happened in the fight at UFC Orlando?

Coming into the fight with a 4-win streak, Pearce outperformed his opponent in every dimension of the fight. Notably, a ‘JSP’ fight stats such as scoring 100+ significant strikes, and a ground control time of over 3 minutes itself reveal how the fight would have panned out.

Not only did the 30-year-old fighter outbox the UFC veteran on his feet, but he also took the fight to the ground toward the end of the second round. Following this, Elkins took substantial damage, and the fountain erupted on his face in the third round.

Despite constant appeals from the commentators, the referee didn’t stop the fight, and the fight saw the last bell ring. However, Elkins seemed to enjoy the tough fight he had.

Similarly, the result offered no surprise as the Fight Ready team representative got his hand raised.
