Kanye West, now known as Ye, has become a polarizing figure since the second half of the last year. Not only did the rapper support the Balenciaga brand’s controversial ad campaign, but also posted anti-Semitic tweets. As a result, the American artist received a lot of flakes from fans worldwide. The controversial figure then tweeted a swastika flag buried inside a Star of David. Together with his opinion-dividing interviews, it became too hard for the ‘Chief Twit’ Elon Musk to ignore West’s activity on Twitter. Therefore, the record producer got slapped with a Twitter ban. However, UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes the Twitter head honcho erred in banning the artist. The famed TV presenter also asks to provide ‘Ye’ with a free platform.

In a conversation with Adam Curry on The Joe Rogan Experience #1930, the standup comic discussed the influence of social media networks. Further, the 55-year-old dug deep into the concept of freedom of speech and balanced it against people’s competence to get yelled at.

Joe Rogan advises Elon Musk on letting Ye speak his mind

The UFC personnel informed Curry of the utility of drawing a line and referred to Musk suspending Kanye West’s Twitter account. Clarifying the position and esteem of ‘Yeezus’ as one of the most famous people alive, Rogan specified the instance that led up to his ban.

The guest expressed that Louis Vuitton Don touched the third rail and neither of them was qualified to discuss his long-rooted reasons.

Following this, the noted podcaster replied, “I think the correct thing to do is to let him talk and then for people to talk sh*t about the dumb things he is saying. That’s normal.”

Similarly, the former Fear Factor host mentioned it was not normal to not allow one to make squiggly lines with their pen. Nonetheless, in the case of a horrible tragedy that happened 100 or 80 years back, Rogan suggested that people should be able to express their thoughts to him and try explaining to West that whatever he has been doing is wrong.

The comedian, later on, questioned Musk, saying, “‘What is he saying wrong? We all are with you’. But people should be able to say that to him. And the only way to say that to him is actually on there.”

“Since you banned him, now you get this weird situation where, okay, who else you gonna be? And how are gonna decide? What is the line you can’t cross? How subjective it is.”, Rogan thus summed up.

Rogan advocates for drawing a line

The host earlier attracted Curry’s attention to the need to draw a line, but questioned when one could draw one. The comedian then pointed out that Elon Musk understood the importance of not letting people go wild.
