Adding yet another piece to what’s becoming an intriguing narrative, Joe Rogan stated, “The Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira fight would probably be the biggest fight in human history. As a matchup, you have the greatest of all time in Jon Jones and arguably the most destructive striker that’s ever competed. No one is like that guy ‘Poatan.” Now, thanks to Ciryl Gane’s spread-out hands, the Jon Jones – Alex Pereira story seems to have received a much-needed shot in the arm.

While Jon Jones continues his push for a berth at the much-vaunted UFC White House event next year, the controversial ending of the Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane fight at UFC 321 may have inched him closer to a historic duel with Alex Pereira. And why shouldn’t it? The matchup itself is mouthwatering, and one can only imagine the kind of buildup it would unleash. Though Jones has already exited the UFC, he remains one of the sport’s biggest voices. As for Pereira, one of the promotion’s brightest stars, he merely has to be himself, and all the publicity in the world will come to him. For anyone still doubting Pereira’s drawing power, they need only listen to what Joe Rogan said a few weeks ago.

Joe Rogan breaks down Alex Pereira’s quiet marketing power

Rogan’s conversation with middleweight contender Michael ‘Venom’ Page took an interesting turn halfway through. Speaking about top-ranked welterweight Lerone Murphy, who, like Page, is also from Great Britain, Rogan emphasized how the Mancunian needs to do something about his marketability. And Michael Page couldn’t disagree. Demetrious Johnson’s name also came up. That’s when Rogan brought up Alex Pereira’s example.

He remarked, “It’s interesting because some guys, their personality is no personality. Yeah. Like Pereira. ” What he meant was that some fighters’ personalities are their lack of personality. Their stoicism is their brand. He further elaborated on how Alex Pereira’s uniqueness and presence have made him a star. “His personality is stone-faced. Just stone-faced. Destroyer. Death machine. Here he comes. Amazon warrior. Like a literal, actual Amazon warrior. Like, not a faker. His f**king family comes from a tribe of Amazon,Joe Rogan stated.

As MVP highlighted, some fighters aren’t talkers or showmen. They don’t like trash talk or public drama. Still, everyone has something marketable about them. One just has to find that angle. Maybe it’s their story, their culture, their discipline, or something outside fighting that fans can connect with.

Considering the narrative building around what many deem the biggest fight in UFC history, Alex Pereira’s personality and cult following make him a massive asset.
