Wait a second, did we just say Joe Rogan got an award? Yes, you saw that right! He has been nominated and awarded many accolades before but this award by former NFL wide receiver truly takes the cake. Antonio Brown decided to dedicate a special award to the UFC color commentator after his uber-successful year, especially with the podcast episode featuring President-elect Donald Trump!

But what award is this? Was this an accolade of reverence or a subtle dig at the podcaster? One thing is guaranteed; this is not your typical trophy category or traditional award, for that matter. So let’s find out what Rogan received and if it is even worth his time.

Before getting into the details about the accolade, let’s get to know a little bit about Brown. Known for his controversial takes on various things via social media, the former Super Bowl champion loves a good leg-pulling banter. He is famous for “CTESPN” commentary and is known for something that people may consider a little racist so to speak – his  “Cra**er of the Day” awards.

Curious about what this award is? Well, you may be familiar with the word ‘crac**r’ – a derogatory term to describe Caucasians. In this case, the ‘award’ is a sarcastic title that the NFL star bestows upon public figures, usually in a way to mock them. And boy, oh boy, did he mock several eminent stars – from the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl Haliey Welch to tech mogul Elon Musk. And now, Joe Rogan has been named alongside his JRE episode #2219 guest, President-elect Donald J. Trump, in the podcast category. The post’s caption read, “Cra**er Podcast Episode of the Year Joe Rogan x Donald Trump.” To his credit, Rogan responded to the sarcastic dig with a humorous reply of his own on X, stating, “This is a great honor and the only award I’ve ever won that I care about.”

It’s good to see the comedian, podcaster and UFC commentator take this dig lightheartedly. The multi-discipline martial artist is no stranger to roasts and digs, apart from people generally blasting him for his hot-takes, since he surrounds himself with unapologetic, and brutally honest comedians like Mark Normand and Shane Gillis.

Antonio Brown roped in Mark Martin and Donald Trump’s son

The former NFL phenom roped in legendary NASCAR driver Mark Martin to partake in his extravagant event. The relationship between the two started from an informal FaceTime back in November, and that’s when they discussed this crossover.

“Thankful to add @markmartin to the Cracker of the Year Awards lineup: Mark Martin x AB collab Who would have ever thought it?” Brown shared this message on X, voicing his happiness that Mark Martin was sporting enough to accept the invitation. The special award ceremony was scheduled for December 27 and was exclusively aired on X.

Adding to this border-crossing event was the inclusion of the 47th President’s son Donald Trump Jr. Apart from targeting Joe Rogan, Donald Trump, and his son, he also included Elon Musk into the mix. What is more hilarious is that this award show was recorded like a real ceremony, uploaded on X, and received 60 million views on the social media platform!

This is a mildly offensive, albeit hilarious end to what was a crazy year in sports, politics, and entertainment. What’s your take on the award Antonio Brown bestowed on Joe Rogan? Let us know in the comments down below.
