Veteran UFC Commentator Joe Rogan is like a cool uncle to all the young MMA fighters. Almost every fighter loves to talk to him as he puts the mic in their face after their bloody bout. However, Rogan might’ve announced his favorite one among the bunch. The 55-year-old loves Khamzat Chimaev and his devil-may-care attitude. He also became a big fan of the Russian-born fighter’s wrestling skills, after UFC 279. However, Rogan also mentioned that there are more than enough fighters in the welterweight division who could pose a threat to Chimaev.

Joe Rogan wants Khamzat Chimaev to face the best opponents of the welterweight

The MMA Analyst knows that Chimaev would have a tough fight against the top dogs of the welterweight division. In episode #1920 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Barstool Sports founder, Dave Portnoy asked the host who could measure up to ‘Borz’.

Rogan said “Everybody in the division, the top guys: Belal Muhammad, Leon Edwards, who’s the champion. Kamaru Usman. All those guys are very capable.”

He took the names of Belal Muhammad, Leon Edwards, and Kamaru Usman. All three of these would give ‘Borz’ a tough fight. These were the first names to pop into his mind. But Rogan wants to see Chimaev face a lot more capable welterweight fighters because they will approach the fight with different techniques to see how ‘Borz’ will square up.

Rogan hails Borz as the best wrestler

The former ‘Fear Factor’ host was in awe of Borz’s ability to wrestle and considers him to be “The best wrestler in the division”. A primary example is his fight against Kevin Holland at UFC 279.

Rogan stated that “So I was in a situation where, I wanted to praise Khamzat, cause he just ragdolled Kevin Holland. One of the most spectacular performances of the year.”

“I mean he showed why he’s the motherf*cker of motherf*ckers and why everybody’s scared of him.” However, Rogan also complained that Chimaev caused a huge problem for the promotion. Despite that, Chimaev displayed a terrific performance against Holland, in the 180-pound weight class.

And because of these attributes, Rogan admitted “I love that dude (Chimaev)” and added, “I f*cking love him to death.”
