Jon Jones was a prodigy in the world of mixed martial arts. In 2011, at just 23 years old, he became the youngest champion in UFC history. ‘Bones’ did so by defeating Maurício Rua to win the light heavyweight title. After that, Jones went on to dominate the division, setting records for the longest unbeaten streak, most title defense wins, and submission victories in his weight class. Despite setbacks, Jones is not letting anyone slow him down. He has recently announced his intention to move up to the heavyweight class and challenge current champion Francis Ngannou.

But not everyone was buying it. One fan was quick to remind Jones of his previous empty promises, writing “We’re not falling for it again, Jonny.” Moreover, he was quick to remind us of Jones‘s earlier promises by sharing similar tweets. Jon Jones back in 2021 said, “I’ll show you how great I am -Ali. *My mindset going into 2021.” Furthermore, in 2022 he tweeted “Champion2022”

It’s been a while since Jones last stepped into the octagon – his last fight was back in February 2020, when he narrowly defeated Dominick Reyes by a split decision. Since then, he’s given up his light heavyweight belt and vowed to move up to heavyweight.
A close friend spills the beans on why Jones keeps messing up
Back when Yoel Romero was gearing up for his big fight at Bellator 280 in Paris. He gave an interesting answer when a reporter asked him who the most fun person is to party with. Through a translator, Romero chuckled and named Jon Jones and Jorge Masvidal as the top contenders for that title.
He said, “With Jon Jones and Jorge Masvidal, every time I’ve gone out with Jon Jones it’s been a hell of a party. It’s been a great time.”

“He just believes that Jon Jones just doesn’t have proper guidance around him at all times, someone to take care of him and guide him the right way.” He further added.
Jones and Romero have a long history together, having trained together for years at Jackson Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Moreover, they have been friends for a long time, to the point where Romero refuses to fight him.
