UFC star Jorge Masvidal had a cheeky response to the current welterweight champion Leon Edwards ahead of the latter’s upcoming fight at UFC 286. ‘Rocky’ faces Kamaru Usman in the grudge match scheduled for March 18 at O2 Arena in London. While Saturday night concludes their trilogy, his rival ‘Gamebred’ didn’t let an opportunity to take a dig at him slip by. Notably, both the welterweights have developed tense rivalry since their famed ‘3 piece-and-a-soda’ altercation at the same arena the Brit defends his title for the first time. Further, March 16th also marks the 4th year of their infamous backstage brawl. Taking a leaf out of the welterweight kingpin’s dig at ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, the American fighter had a saucy suggestion to the champion.

Markedly, the 38-year-old took to Instagram as he penned a 5-word response to the British champion. The message accompanied a clip of their scrap where the Miami native threw a 3-punch combo at the crowd favorite. As a result, the Kingston native left the arena with a cut on his face. While they were both booked to settle their score at UFC 269, the fight never materialized. Since then, the 20-3 record holder captured the UFC gold and has been domineering the BMF belt holder.

The 35-16 record holder significantly alluded to the recent gimmick by Edwards in his MMA training gym in Birmingham. Earlier, the Team Renegade BJJ & MMA product put on a public poster of him landing a knockout kick to Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. In addition, the fighter stressed the importance of defense, as he also caught the former champion lacking.
