Jose Aldo is undoubtedly an icon in the sport of mixed martial arts. The Brazilian fighter was one of the best in the business during his heyday and contributed a lot to the UFC. Aldo was the first-ever UFC Featherweight Champion after the UFC and WEC merger. “Junior” once held an outstanding winning streak of 18 wins. As of 2021, Aldo stands fifth in the UFC’s bantamweight division ranking. Many consider Aldo to be one of the best strikers in the history of the promotion.
None other than ‘The Notorious’, Conor McGregor broke Jose Aldo’s 18 fight win streak back at UFC 194. Conor beat Jose Aldo following a spectacular first-round knockout and unified his UFC featherweight championship title.

After losing his fight against the young Irishman, Jose Aldo went on to fight Frankie Edgar the next year for the featherweight title. he won the fight against Edgar via a unanimous decision and went on the be promoted as the undisputed champion. Flailing his win against Frankie Edgar, Aldo recently revealed that he received a heartwarming gift from his former opponent Conor McGregor.
On a podcast with Guilherme Cruz Aldo said in Portuguese, “When I fought Frankie Edgar and won the title again,(McGregor and I) were staying at the same hotel, side by side. He saw me and even sent a gift congratulating me for the belt I had just won. That was intimate, brother. He knows that he sent it to my room. I see no problem with that. It was a way of trying to show love for me and my family.” He said,” It was really intimate. It was nice, it was nice. I don’t know what his intentions were, right? But it was nice.”
What’s next for Jose Aldo?

Jose Aldo is all set to return to action after a recent win over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 265. The fighter will take on Rob Font on December 3rd, and will be on the main event of the fight night. The fight will be a bantamweight bout. Aldo will look to extend his winning streak, which is at two wins currently.
Aldo began his bantamweight career with two consecutive losses against the likes of Marlon Moraes and Petr Yan. However, he has turned things around with two victories in his previous two bouts.
