UFC star Conor McGregor last held UFC gold in 2018 when the lightweight championship exchanged hands with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 233. The Irishman who captivated the MMA world could only muster a sole win since then and his fortunes have gone downhill. However, his recent slump didn’t put a dent in his reputation as he is billed to earn a shot at the title next. While the details of the much-awaited comeback fight of ‘Notorious’ are still being chalked out, a win against Michael Chandler might establish him as next in the line. The UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping theorized the same when he spoke his mind. Despite the Dublin-born finding an ally in the British fighter, the speculations might not sit well with Justin Gaethje.

Notably, ‘The Count’ voiced his aid to the growing belief of the Irish fighter seizing the #1 contender spot. Further, he theorized racking a win against ‘Iron’, and given his global megastar reputation, a title opportunity next is a foregone conclusion.

Bisping contends Justin Gaethje might have to lump it

Subsequently, the podcaster added, “And you put all that together and then you beat the same guy that Gaethje got a title fight for them. Well, on this side of the fence, I’ve got to go with McGregor in this one.”

While he scored it 10-9 in favor of the SBG Ireland representative, he also lauded the former UFC champion.

Lastly, he declared, “Well done Conor. there you go. Justin Gaethje gonna have to like it and lump it, unfortunately.”
