65 days, 3 fights, and since September 2022, the number is zero. These are the two stats that continue to perplex fans about Khamzat Chimaev and his now-long, nagging inactivity. The Swede has yet to step into the Octagon after making easy work of Kevin Holland at UFC 279. However, the fans don’t have to wait for long before he steps into the steel cage and captivates them with a thrilling display. Meanwhile, Chimaev himself would be itching to make a comeback and bag another bonus, which has been the story of his UFC career.

What is the net worth of Khamzat Chimaev?

The UFC star, still 3 years into his UFC career, has amassed a feared reputation and also earned some hefty paychecks. According to MMA Salaries, his net worth stands at approximately $1 million. His fight pay, added performance bonuses and sponsorship deals remain the primary sources of revenue. But how thick are those fight purses?

The fight deservedly got the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, and, therefore, the Swedish fighter took home $384,500. However, according to MMA salaries, this number was toppled when he fought Holland and collected $1,006,000. He might be one of the few who are pocketing a million per fight.

The former wrestler is racking up some heavy bags when it comes to paychecks, something other fighters only dream about. He had deposited his faith in the UFC and Dana White to work out a solution for him, and it paid dividends. But the same is not true for others who have raised fighters’ pay issues, especially Francis Ngannou.

Does Khamzat Chimaev support Dana White on the UFC fighters’ pay dispute?

The 12-0 record holder blasted ‘The Predator’ and sided with the UFC president in an interview with Brett Okamoto. The Cameroonian-French fighter was back then in an ongoing tussle with the promotion to negotiate a more lucrative contract.

Pointing him out, Chimaev said, “And big guy, what his name? [Francis] Ngannou. He talking about they don’t give him good money and all these things. And he was speaking about living outside before. Why don’t he do it right now? He has to appreciate everything that’s happened with him. He has to fight, fight, the money coming.”

In the same interview, the undefeated fighter narrated his story and disclosed that he was almost homeless when the UFC gave him a shot. He has staunchly supported the UFC head honcho for changing his life. Meanwhile, he couldn’t bear the sight of fighters who failed to look back at their worn and torn past conditions before the promotion gave them an opportunity.

“A lot of guys talking about ‘UFC don’t give us good money’ and those things. Go back, and where they’ve been, one, two, three years ago? They don’t remember that, you know? I was homeless almost, you know? Lot of guys as well,” the fighter expressed.

Hence, the MMA fighter is ready to sail along with the UFC and White, who have recently booked him for a fight with title implications. The #4-ranked welterweight fight will take on #6-ranked middleweight fighter Paulo Costa at UFC 294. A win against the Brazilian on the UFC’s annual trip to Abu Dhabi might even propel him to the next in line, depending on the other variables.

But one thing is for sure: Chimaev will unleash carnage in the fight, thus giving fans an entertaining affair. And who knows, he might even leave the arena with another fat bonus and ‘Borrachinha’ in the dust. But there is no sport as unpredictable as MMA, and we never know what might transpire after the doors to the Octagon are shut.
