He gifted a beautiful pair of sunglasses to Alex Pereira, who tried them promptly and swung into his famous Chama steps. As the match time ticked closer, the two parted with an embrace. Mark Zuckerberg wished Pereira the best for his fight. “Our homies, all brothers,” Pereira reflected.
Even earlier, as the preliminary fights unfolded, Mark Zuckerberg stepped out of his cageside seat to hug Daniel Santos. The Brazilian defeated the unbeaten Joo Sang Yoo via second-round KO. Speaking about his interaction with Zuckerberg, Santos revealed, “That’s actually normal.”
“We’ve had a friendship for three years. He watched one of my fights; we’ve been DM’ing ever since,” he added.
The next battle awaits Pereira
As far as Alex Pereira is concerned, his next move is still shrouded in mystery. During the post-fight presser, Dana White revealed how, ahead of the fight, Pereira met him at the UFC Performance Institute and pressed for a heavyweight opportunity.

“We want to fight at heavyweight,” he seems to have told White. The UFC president remained noncommittal, though. “It’s not that I have any reservations about it. The guy is in a division where there’s still interesting fights. I like the guy so much. We’ll see. We’ll have to talk about it. I just don’t see why, unless he wants to retire. Why throw him at heavyweight? (It doesn’t) make any sense other than he just wants to do it so bad I’ll just say yes,” he said at the press conference.
If the heavyweight move doesn’t play out, then there’s a good chance of Alex Pereira facing third-ranked contender Carlos Ulberg. Sitting at the cageside, the New Zealand-born fighter, who boasts a formidable record, moved an inch closer to his title dream by knocking out Dominick Reyes at UFC Perth.
Another possibility could be a trilogy bout against Jiri Prochazka. The Czech fighter reaffirmed his contention with a dominating win over Khalil Rountree Jr.
