Conor McGregor was the dual-weight champion of UFC, who brought the highest pay-per-view views for the promotion. However, he has not fought inside the cage for more than three years. The huge full stop came after he was greatly injured while fighting Dustin Poirier in 2021. He had to undergo surgery, and then came the time to heal. However, Conor McGregor was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but he broke his toe during training, leading to the cancellation of the bout. Since then, ‘Mystic Mac’ has been busy with other things like BKFC and his Forged Irish Stout business while also trying to become the president of Ireland. But what about his UFC return? He still has two fights left in his contract. McGregor, who is pretty active on social media, has finally given an update on this, but he has a unique demand.

Following WrestleMania 41’s success in Las Vegas, McGregor decided to come to social media and said, “I’ll only come back to a stadium,” expecting a blockbuster return. The 36-year-old has not forgotten his unfinished business with Michael Chandler that started with them coaching different teams at The Ultimate Fighter in the past.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, who had supported McGregor’s decision to withdraw from UFC 303, doubled down on the latest news. During an episode of the JAXXON podcast, Luke Rockhold made him aware of what McGregor had said. ‘Rampage’ stated, “I  don’t believe it. Well, now that you say two fights left in his contract. Ok, so that is confirmed, and you know you are vying to fight on a contract. Conor has a good relationship with UFC and Dana white and stuff like that.”

He further mentioned, “So I don’t know, I don’t see him like burning the UFC. But think about his last fight he had, like a really bad injury, and I know he’s come back from it and everything, but you know that’s why I asked Jorge,  I say, hey, if you made $30 million for a fight, how many times would you fight? And Jorge is like nah, fight as much as I can, me too, I probably would.”

He then went down to describe how hard training camp and MMA fighting were. It is true because the toll on the body is severe, especially when it comes to concussions and CTE. UFC veterans like Jon Jones and Ronda Rousey have talked about this multiple times. The former two-division champion has bagged $39.3 million from his fights in UFC, as per Front Office Sports. On top of that, his net worth stands at $200 million as per Dublin Live. So will he return to fight in the UFC?

Conor McGregor hints at a comeback

Recently, ‘The Notorious’ decided to hint at his comeback via Instagram. He uploaded a video of himself sparring at the Alta Warrior Training Program in Ireland. McGregor captioned the post, “Improve your confidence, your relationships, your life. Join @trainalta today!”

Was this a hint about his comeback to UFC? Since he’s back to training, MMA fans are buzzing that his next opponent might be Paddy Pimblett. Pimblett defeated Chandler at UFC 314, and ‘The Baddy’ called out the Irishman. “He’s meant to back me, and he never does,” Pimblett said. “So if he wants it, he’ll get muftied as well.”

On top of that, ex-UFC star Chael Sonnen said that McGregor had ‘no business’ with Chandler. ‘The American Gangster’ said in a latest YouTube upload: “[Conor says] ‘I will come back, I have unfinished business with Michael Chandler’ — let me stop you right there. You and Chandler don’t have any business.”

In the classic Sonnen style, he added, “You did a series of The Ultimate Fighter that had ratings so bad, they had to bring in Daniel Cormier and me to try and revive the whole story.”  So, Pimblett might be the only viable option right now.
