Ariel Helwani wins the MMA Journalist of the Year for the 13th time. Furthermore, this was anti-climatic considering that UFC president Dana White and Paddy Pimblett criticized the journalist. Helwani has often been found in the headlines due to his controversial opinions. He has conducted interviews with some of the most noteworthy MMA stars.

The controversial journalist has often clashed with the head of UFC. In addition, the journalist received a lifetime ban when he leaked information regarding 2 fights before its official release, back at UFC 199. Although he was reinstated back soon after.

Similarly, Paddy Pimblett also recently had an issue with a Canadian journalist. It all began when Pimblett’s manager allegedly asked for a fee for the UFC rising star to appear in an interview with Helwani. However, the journalist turned down the offer and a feud ensued between the two.
