Leon Edwards has a change of heart for Drake. The two have been at odds since the singer put a wager against him at UFC 278. The Canadian-American singer is an avid bettor. While he has some success in other sports, the dice don’t roll in his favor in his UFC bets. ‘Rocky’, playing spoilsport, rose to the occasion and defeated Kamaru Usman. As a result, he caused a dent of $500,000 in Drake’s account. Now, a year later, it appears the UFC champion has mellowed down.
The British champion’s victory sent shockwaves through the welterweight division. Fans and pundits were left stunned by what the MMA fighter had pulled. Despite the odds, Edwards left the arena with UFC gold wrapped around his waist. But he didn’t let the opportunity slip by to take a jab at his doubters, including Drake. “Next time, bet on me,” the welterweight lynchpin’s message was loud and clear. However, ‘Drizzy’ has finally won over Edwards with his music.

Leon Edwards finds solace in Drake’s lyrics
The 31-year-old fighter turned to his Instagram handle and shared the latest post by Drake. The lyrics spoke to him as those reminded him of his journey.

The caption read, “Can’t be worried about who ain’t around…bet they sitting in the same part of town telling them same stories about when I WAS around or them same stories about when they were up and I was down or the one where they got it all figured out and I’m the clown…it’s who we choose to let surround that can bring us down…
I once was lost, but now I’m found.”
Notably, Edwards’ rise from rags to riches is remarkable. Surrounded by a life of crime at a young age, he turned his life around when he discovered MMA. He debuted in the UFC on the heels of a splendid record but succumbed to a record of 2-2 after he faced ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ for the first time.

What followed next was a display of sheer determination and hard work as the Kingston native collected 11 wins on the trot. His unstopped juggernaut even caused the downfall of Usman’s reign at the top.
