‘My Family Loved Him’- Henry Cejudo Details How Jon Jones Has Bonded with His Family Members

Former ‘champ-champ’ Henry Cejudo spoke to ‘Schmo’ on their podcast ‘The Triple C and Schmo show’ about a major incident that took place recently. Cejudo was seen training with former light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones who came down to Arizona. Jones set up shop at ‘Fight Ready’ gym and put in some serious work with Cejudo and his team.

Both men were active on social media during their training stint and fans got to see them interact with each other. In fact, their interactions were so infectious that fans got to see ‘Bones’ Jones have a family dinner at Henry Cejudo’s house, cooked by his mother. Prior to their interaction, it wasn’t clear if both men shared a close relationship, however, they have clearly formed a bond now.

“I believe him reaching out [to train] and him being humble, which I had a chance to get to know him. I mean literally man, we had him here at the house. My mom cooked for him. I had no idea he can eat spicy food like that. He enjoyed it, he loved it. My family loved him.”

Will Jon Jones clinch heavyweight glory in 2022

Bones’ Jones has taken bulking season rather seriously ever since he decided to make a move to the UFC’s heavyweight division. He hasn’t competed since February 2020 when he defended his 205-pound strap against Dominick Reyes. Jones has been targeting a move to heavyweight for a significant period of time, but he’s yet to follow through.

Fans are curious to see how Jones will adapt to being a heavyweight, and everyone is keen to see how his movements will change. At 205-pounds, Jones was able to put forth dynamic movement, and this overshadowed his competition significantly. Not to mention, fans want to see how Jones responds to standing across heavyweight KO juggernauts like Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis.

If the past is any indication of his success index, Jon Jones could go on to be the world champion by the end of 2022. His status as a GOAT in the sport makes it such that he’ll likely walk right into a title show when he deems fit to return to action.
