“My People in Iran, I Know You’re Struggling” – Beneil Dariush Honors Iran Protest in Abu Dhabi as Fans Sideline Conor McGregor in His Favor at UFC 280

Beneil Dariush beat Mateusz Gamrot in a key lightweight match-up at UFC 280. Dariush won via unanimous decision at the Etihad Arena in Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Dariush and Gamrot engaged in close exchanges on the ground and on the feet. Both fighters gave it their all as they went the full distance.

Beneil Dariush was scheduled to fight Islam Makhachev, but pulled out due to injury. The UFC later matched him against the number seven-ranked lightweight Mateusz Gamrot. Dariush’s last win came against Tony Ferguson. Gamrot beat the young contender Arman Tsarukyan back in June on his way to UFC 280.

Beneil Dariush beat Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 280, and extended his winning streak to eight fights in a row. The lightweights threw down in exciting fashion and the fans loved every moment of it. Beneil Dariush stole the show with his performance and fans and pros did not shy away from letting their appreciation known. Some are even pushing Dariush’s name for a title shot.
