Famous podcaster Joe Rogan sat down with Dale Earnhardt Jr. to hear about the scariest experience he had driving a racecar. The son of legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr. spoke about how he got nervous when he went full throttle. After that experience, he never felt the same way about cars, ever again. The semi-retired professional racecar driver didn’t know what to expect when his father sat him down for his first ride.

Being a NASCAR racer and going at full speed would mean risking one’s life at each turn of the track. Doing it every day literally means accepting fatal injuries if you’re not careful.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared his first experience on the racetrack
In episode #1196 with the 55-year-old heard the story of how Dale Earnhardt Jr overcame his fears. The Fear Factor host said, “one of the craziest, wildest most demanding things a person can do for an occupation.” is being a NASCAR racer.
The professional racer shared a story from when he was young and aspiring to be a racer like his dad. One day Dale Earnhardt Sr. told him “Get your helmet and suit and meet me at the racetrack” “Don’t ask any questions”
He revealed that back then, he never went over 90 mph before, and this was his test to see if he could handle it.

His father sat him down in the car and gave him a simple instruction “You gotta hold it wide open.” “If you don’t hold it wide open, the motor’s not going to work.” “It has to run at full throttle”, Joe Rogan gasped at this.
When the 48-year-old finally gathered the courage to sit in the car, he wasn’t fully confident in himself. “I was like ‘Man, I’m a little nervous to hold it wide open’…”
But he gathered the courage to start the engine and hit the top speed.
The driver was worried that at this speed, he wouldn’t be able to steer the car properly and was worried that the car would topple over. But he didn’t slow down and trusted his dad.

The American realized then made the turn and realized that “There’s more grip than you can imagine” and stated “The car is stuck to the track”

This incident decimated his fear of devilish speeds. “I think that was the only time I ever had any real fear of driving a car,” said Earnhardt Jr. to Joe Rogan.
