Nate Diaz just has a knack for getting into trouble. The former UFC superstar, off the mean streets of Stockton, California, of course, is known for his always-willing-to-throw-down, take-no-crap approach. His authenticity and ability to be himself at all times have made him among the most beloved fighters in the entire sport. But it also means that he has a tendency to find trouble.
From allegedly slapping Khabib Nurmagomedov to throwing bottles at Islam Makhachev‘s team, Diaz is always willing to stand his ground. And as you can tell from these two examples, the 40-year-old doesn’t have the best relationship with Russian fighters. So, not many were surprised to learn that Diaz had abruptly walked out of a Russian reality TV show due to an alleged brawl.
The show in question is ‘ALF Reality,’ which is very similar to ‘The Ultimate Fighter. ‘ This year, Jon Jones and Nate Diaz were supposed to serve as opposite head coaches. However, a clip from the show has gone viral, which shows Diaz almost getting into a brawl with one of the Russian participants on Jones’ team. This led to the former BMF contender exiting the show abruptly, and the story has been going viral on the MMA internet.

And while his stint on the reality show starring Jones may have ended acrimoniously, Diaz has no ill will towards ‘Bones’ and is still pretty friendly with the UFC heavyweight champion. On his Instagram account, the former UFC superstar shared pictures of him meeting with Jones, along with a caption showing his respect for ‘Bones.’ “Real Goat talk wit @jonnybones,” Diaz wrote.

It turns out that the guy, Zalik, who caused Diaz’s exit from ‘ALF Reality’ is the same guy who was seen driving Jones around Thailand on a bike. So it seems like the guy is at least friendly with Jones, who was quick to defend his teammate in a recent interview.

Is Jon Jones right? Was the whole Nate Diaz ‘brawl’ exaggerated?
“We had one of our young fighters, a guy named Zalik, he was playing with Nate. He wanted to play-fight with Nate. Nate kind of came in a little bit on edge. I think he had some previous beef with some Russian fighters, so he was a little bit on edge when he got here. Play-fighting with Nate was not the best idea. It became serious right away, and we had to replace Nate,” Jones told ‘Red CornerMMA’ in a recent interview.

However, Jones’ take does seem to be spot on if you watch the video. The whole thing started when the Russian fighter named Zalik walked up to Diaz and playfully claimed he was “a Russian gangster” and a fight between them would “be good” before throwing a playful punch at Diaz.

From his demeanor, you could tell the guy was joking. But before things could escalate, the rest of the Russian fighters jumped in and asked him to stop. Out of nowhere, someone (perhaps one of Diaz’s guys) just socks Zalik in the face. The latter got upset at this, but nothing else really happened. To call that a brawl would be a huge stretch, and it has led some to wonder why Diaz even left the reality show at all.
However, what do you think about Nate Diaz and Jon Jones’ amicable meeting after the reality show fiasco?
