UFC star Nate Diaz bid farewell to the promotion after he completed his contract at UFC 279 in a memorable fight against Tony Ferguson. After putting his body on the line for almost 16 years, the ‘Stockton Slapper’ is actively looking for a new challenge outside the steel cage. While his next destination is unknown, the younger of the Diaz brothers is the hottest property in combat sports currently. However, his farewell match, which got embroiled in controversy over Khamzat Chimaev missing the weight, still attracts attention. Adding fuel to these discussions, the recent claim of the Swedish fighter sparked another controversy.
Notably, ‘Borz’ recently claimed that the Russian politician Ramzan Kadyrov offered $2 million to the former UFC fighter to materialize the fight at UFC 279 at a catchweight. However, the 37-old-fighter’s representative has discarded these claims.

Chimaev claims Nate Diaz received the $2 million offer
Chimaev, 28, made the claims recently when he appeared on the Captain Hardcore channel. The Chechen-born claimed Kadyrov tried to realize the fight after he failed to clock the weight at 170 lbs. Despite this grand offer, Diaz refused to accept it and fought the replacement brought in by the UFC, Tony Ferguson.

Thus, the perfect 12-0 record holder stated, “Ramzan Akhmatovich called me and said he would give Nate $2 million to agree to the fight. I told Diaz, but he still refused. He didn’t want to fight me and just found another option.”
As expected, the Stockton native’s camp was quick to respond and straightaway rejected the claims. Zach Rosenfield, in a conversation with BloodyElbow, mentioned that there was no truth in the statements.
Thus, he clarified, “There is no truth to this”. Further, he added that the only interaction both fighters shared took place during the UFC 279 press conference brawl.
While Nate collided with another giant of the sport, Chimaev found a replacement in Kevin Holland. Markedly, Chimaev made quick work of his opponent as he made the ‘Trailblazer’ tap out within the first round.
Similarly, the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu product put on a vintage display as he also bowed out with a dominating win.
