Will Conor McGregor return in 2024 anymore? This is the big question everyone has been asking and wondering about. The thing is, ‘Mystic Mac’ confidently gave a hint of his return but no one is still sure of it. The former dual-weight champ is active on social media and is also set to do a press conference for BKFC in October. However, when it comes to his entry into the Octagon, nothing is confirmed.

Brendan Schaub clears the news of Conor McGregor returning in 2024

During the last segment of the video, the duo spoke about Conor McGregor announcing his comeback in 2024. The host declared that McGregor dropped a bombshell update on the fight date against  Michael ChandlerHowever, Schaub replied, “There is no date though. They asked Dana about it at Pat MC. He was like ‘We hope Conor fights in 2024. But I have nothing lined up.’”

He continued, “Not a bombshell if he was supposed to fight. It would be a bombshell if he dropped an actual date.”  Even though McGregor and Chandler shared a rare moment where they supported former POTUS Donald Trump who recently got shot at in a Pennsylvania rally, there have been no talks about a date for their fight.

McGregor replied to Chandler via tweet that he spoke to the UFC CEO about the date and it all seemed good. ‘The Notorious’ said, “I talked to Dana today about our new date, all looking good! 24’ for sure.” However White confirmed that McGregor had texted him but did not hint at anything related to fighting.

“As of sitting here right here, right now, no, I don’t have a date for it or a plan or anything like that,” White told The Pat McAfee Show. Meanwhile, he has kept the possibility open and said that the fans would love to see the matchup. The 36-year-old has been out of action for almost three years and ‘Iron’ has been waiting for nearly two years for the matchup. At 38 he is already at the twilight of his career and many veterans told him to move on. An insider even announced that White is not serious about McGregor fighting in 2024.

Chael Sonnen says McGregor cannot fight in 2024

While speaking to Daniel Cormier on their ESPN MMA show, Sonnen agreed with the former champ that McGregor will not return in 2024. He said that the matchup might happen in the future but not this year because most of the slots for future PPV events are already filled. “Daniel, both parts of the statement can’t be true. That part I am bullish on [that Chandler will fight McGregor], not the part that Conor’s going to fight Chandler and that it’s going to be in 2024. Look it’s a simple date issue. And there’s just not a date left,” he said.

‘The American Gangster’ also mentioned how Chandler was challenging Nate Diaz, who was not even in UFC at the moment and called it a bluff. However Dana White was ready to give Chandler a fight and he mentioned it on the “The Jim Rome Show.” He said, “I think poor Chandler wants to wait for Conor McGregor. Whatever he wants to do, if he wants to get a fight this summer, we’ll do whatever he wants…”

Chandler confirmed after that, that he had received an offer against Islam Makhachev in October. However, even though he did not say no to the offer he was still eager for McGregor as his opponent and even tweeted about it while mentioning The Sphere which is going to have the biggest event of the year: UFC 306.
