UFC 280: Oliveira vs. Makhachev is scheduled on Saturday at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The anticipated event is over-stacked with powerful and exciting fights. Further, the fans are looking forward to witnessing whether Charles Oliveira reclaims the vacant lightweight title and overcomes the challenger, Islam Makhachev, or whether Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protege gets the job done.

However, in the midst of the buildup to the PPV, MMA fans have had their first disappointment. The announced broadcast team has one notable name missing- Joe Rogan. While Bruce Buffer will take on the announcer’s duties, and Megan Olivi will conduct backstage interviews, the fans will not be able to spot Joe Rogan on the commentators’ table.

This absence is owing to the fact that the UFC commentator has a contractual condition that makes his commentating commitments exclusive to the USA.

Instead, the trio of Jon Anik, Paul Felder, and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier will share the Octagon commentating duties.

Fans’ reaction to Cormier’s inclusion in the commentary team for UFC 280

Fans reacted to the commentary lineup on social media. While many will miss the color commentator Joe Rogan, they have a hot take on the former UFC champion, Daniel Cormier.
