UFC 285 main cards saw one interesting lightweight bout. Mateusz Gamrot and Jalin Turner went head to head in an all-important bout. The two were in search of a win as both fighters made their weight before the fight. The UFC lightweights also looked to put on a show for their fans ahead of their fight.
‘Gamer’ lost his last fight against Beneil Dariush. Before that fight, Gamrot was on a 4 fight-win streak. However, ‘The Tarantula’ came into the bout with a 5 fight-win streak. The fight was important for the two to climb up the UFC lightweight ranking. Gamrot is ranked 7th in the lightweight division while Turner is ranked 10th.

How did the fight play out?
Round 1 started with both fighters going back and forth in throwing some strikes. Furthermore, Gamrot took Turner down as he shot for a takedown. ‘The Tarantula’ got back to his feet in a minute. The round was equally balanced between the two lightweights.
Round 2 started with both fighters looking to gain an advantage after a close first round. Moreover, the fighters engaged in strikes at the beginning of the round. Gamrot was also cut open near the left eye by ‘The Tarantula’ in the round. The round ended with ‘Gamer’ having ground control over Turner.

Round 3 saw both fighters looking to secure a win against the other in the final 5 minutes. Moreover, the two lightweights went for it in the opening seconds of the round. Furthermore, ‘Game’ secured a near-the-minute mark. The bout transgressed into a clinch near the gage as the referee broke the fight. Joe Rogan in the commentary booth, was against the call of breaking the fight.
The judges then scored the contest in favor of the Polish fighter after a close bout. This win, secured by Gamrot, made him return to winning ways.
