While the title fight between the two is imminent, the fateful venue might turn out to be London. However, their main event fight might get overshadowed by another welterweight division fight, i.e. Colby Covington vs. Khamzat Chimaev.

When Khamzat Chimaev last fought at UFC 279, he made quick work of his opponent, Kevin Holland. Similarly, Colby Covington won a comfortable fight against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. Both the welterweight fighters are eyeing a title bout and if Dana White’s words are to be believed, both will cross paths in London next year.

The UFC president Dana White is currently in Abu Dhabi for the upcoming PPV event 280. In an interview, a journalist pointed out that the #3 welterweight fighter Khamzat Chimaev was in Abu Dhabi to witness the main event unfold. He further mentioned that he had a suggestion for the UFC president.

Hence, he pitched the idea of Colby Covington vs Chimaev as a co-main event on the same fight card featuring Edwards vs Usman as the main event fight.
