Fan favorite ‘Wonderboy‘ showcased his true power in the locked Octagon once more. Perhaps this was one of the best fights of his UFC career so far. Moreover, he faced a deadly striker in Kevin Holland. He is a younger and more ambitious fighter who dreams of clinching the title.
The fight was so intense that Kevin Holland injured his right hand during the battle. Moreover, it seemed to be that the injury was inflicted after blocking a barrage of kicks repeatedly.
Kevin Holland was the dominant fighter by the end of the first round, with ‘Wonderboy’ bleeding. However, it all changed in the 2nd round. The South Carolina fighter landed 63% of the head strikes during the fight against his opponent.

Stephen Thompson’s heartfelt post-fight interview
‘Wonderboy’ laid it all out there in a post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier. ‘DC’ asked him if the fight was as he had expected.

Thompson replied, “A 100% man. The guys got reach for days. I knew he was gonna be hard to get. So I had to use my timing, my distance management, to get on the inside and, of course, good timing.” He further added, “My last two performances, I lost to grapplers. I wanted to show the UFC and fans ‘Wonderboy’ is still here.”
He capped off the night by saying that he still felt like a 25-year-old and he is in there for the long run.
