UFC commentator, Joe Rogan raised a question for Francis Ngannou on his podcast. Rogan wondered what Ngannou’s plans would be in the PFL if he defeated Renan Ferreira, suggesting limited opportunities might follow such a win. Ngannou admitted that in such a scenario, he would consider trasitioning to boxing.

Joe Rogan further inquired, “ Do you have an opponent in mind?” After a brief pause, Ngannou revealed he hadn’t considered a specific opponent, emphasizing that the situation would dictate his choice.

Because my expectation, as you were asking me earlier.” Francis Ngannou further elaborated, “like how many fights do I think I can do in MMA or boxing? I think I get to have a good four-fight plan in boxing, I think that could be good. You know, you get like a good four fights, and then you build, like, know who and who should be next. That could be my potential retirement plan.

I’m gonna see him. I’m not afraid of it, I still wanna live but at least whenever you get to that point to think like that, so some way you’re looking for whenever that happens.”
